Happening Now: Crash, Deer Strike Slowing Lancaster Pike Commute

Hockessin – Just after 6:15 this morning rescue crews from the Hockessin and Cranston Heights Fire Companies along with Delaware State Police and Trooper 4 were dispatched to Lancaster Pike in the area of the Sanford School for a rollover crash.

Crews en route to the scene were being told that a vehicle struck another vehicle causing the first vehicle to rollover before landing back on its wheels.  EMTs evaluating the driver later reported that there was no rollover and the driver refused service.

A second driver is currently being evaluated. Cranston Heights and Trooper 4 have been recalled.

Command has ordered the northbound lanes of Lancaster Pike closed.

Troopers en route to the crash scene were told that another vehicle has struck a deer further down Lancaster Pike.

Use caution in the area when you get out on the roads this morning.
