Troopers: Man Assaulted, Robbed At Gunpoint In His Front Yard

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on December 9, 2019, at approximately 9:59 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 31000 block of Karen Street in Millsboro for the report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 59-year-old male resident who advised that while he was outside in the front yard, he was approached by an unknown subject.

The suspect displayed a handgun and struck the victim with the handgun, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect demanded the victim empty his pockets, according to Jaffe.

The suspect obtained the victim’s wallet, cell phone and keys prior to fleeing the scene. Shortly after the incident, the victim’s bank card was used at an Exxon in Seaford. The victim did not sustain injury.

The suspect was described as a black male in his late 20’s, approximately 5’08” tall, 175 lbs., with a full beard, and wearing all dark clothing.
