Happening Now: One Trapped Under Vehicle Near Harrington, 1,600 Without Power

Harrington – Just before 8:00 this morning rescue crews from the Harrington and Houston Fire Companies along with Kent County Medics and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the 3800 block of Carpenter Bridge Road for a rollover crash with entrapment.

At 8:20 the incident commander reported that the patient, who was trapped under the vehicle, had been freed.

Update: At 8:47 Trooper 2’s medic reported that the patient was trapped after it rolled several times. The helicopter is expected to land at the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital at around 9:00 am.

Arriving Troopers reported that Carpenter Bridge Road is currently closed.

Delaware Electric Cooperative is currently dealing with an outage of just under 1,600 customers in the region. It’s unclear id the outage is due to the accident, however, we do know that electrical crews have responded to the scene.

Readers that live in the area have reported that just after their power went out they heard the sirens of the first responders.

Update: A check of Delaware Electric Cooperative’s outage map shows all but one customer has been restored and the roadway has been reopened.
