Man Shot, Left In A Ditch Along Backroad South Of Bowers Beach

Bennett’s Pier Beach – Just after 5:30 Tuesday evening rescue crews along with Delaware State Police and surrounding agencies responded to the 3000 block of Bennett’s Pier Road for reports a shooting.

Upon their arrival crews found one subject in a ditch reportedly having suffered an apparent gunshot shot wound, according to reports from the scene.  Shortly after their arrival Troopers ordered Bennett’s Pier Road closed at   Brockham Ridge Road.

It is not clear what led to the shooting along the backroad that sets about three miles southeast of Bowers Beach.

The Delaware State Police have not released information regarding the incident or the condition of the victim.
