Newark Police Investigating Shots Fired Into A Home

The Newark Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred this week, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin.

Rubin said on March 24, 2020, Newark Police responded to a residence in the unit block of Plymouth Drive after the resident found a bullet hole in the front window of the residence. An investigation at the scene determined that a bullet entered the front window and traveled within the residence and lodged in a wall inside the residence. The resident reported that the incident occurred sometime between 7:00 pm onĀ 3/23/20 and 1:00 pm on 3/24/20.

During the investigation, officers recovered a spent shell casing in the roadway a short distance away from the residence.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. T. Gerasimov at (302) 366-7100 x. 3474 or [email protected]. Additional methods for providing information to Newark Police can be found on our tips page, where reward information may also be available.

Last week Newark Police made an arrest on Plymouth Drive after a homeowner received a package that he did not order. That arrest was made after a Philadelphia man showed up at the residence and tried to retrieve the package, officials said last week.
