Troopers Investigating Shots Fired In Home Depot Parking Lot

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that took place in the Miller Rd. Shopping Center on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, May 3, 2020 at approximately 5:34 p.m., Troopers responded to the parking lot of the Home Depot, located at 3602 Miller Road, for the report of possible gunshots in the area. The investigation determined that a male suspect who was in the parking lot fired multiple rounds from a handgun in the direction of two subjects who were riding dirt bikes in the parking lot. Multiple 9mm shell casings were recovered from the parking lot.

After the shots were fired the subjects on the dirt bikes fled northbound on Miller Road. The male subject who fired the shots fled on foot towards the Pebble Hill Apartment complex. The shooting suspect was described as a tall, thin black male, 15-20 years of age, wearing all dark clothing to include a cloth concealing his face.

At this time there have been no reported injuries related to this incident and the identities of the subjects on the dirt bikes remain unknown.
