Elsmere – Rescue crews and HAZMAT Teams have responded to Kirkwood Highway just west of the Wilmington VA Hospital for an accident involving an van and a dump truck.
Early reports indicate that at least one patient is trapped.
Trooper 4 has also responded and has landed in the PNC parking lot nearby.
Kirkwood Highway has been shut down.
Expect extended delays.
Update: Driver freed from the vehicle after 25 minutes. Will be transported by air with serious injuries to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center.
