Newark Police have released a statement regarding the motorcycle accident that occurred just before 1:30 this afternoon.
“Newark Police are currently on the scene of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and tractor-trailer on Christina Parkway (SR 4). Christina Parkway is currently closed between South College Ave and Elkton Road. Please use an alternate route and expect delays.”

Newark – Rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder along with Newark Police, UDEL Police and Trooper 4 are responding to Christina Parkway at Science Blvd for an accident involving a motorcycle.”
Police have closed the road to allow the helicopter to land.
Update: The patient has been airlifted to the trauma center. The road remains closed.
