Man Shot In Dunleith Early Wednesday Afternoon

County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Dunleith earlier today, officials said Wednesday.

Patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Morehouse Drive, in the community of Dunleith, for a shooting that had just occurred this afternoon.

When the officers arrived, they discovered, a 48-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The officers administered first-aid until New Castle County Paramedics arrived. The victim was then transported to a local area hospital.

At the hospital, the victim was taken into surgery; where he is listed as being in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
