Police Update Vehicle Into A Home, Three Injured

This afternoon, Friday, January 22, at approximately 3:00 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Bunche Boulevard, in the community of Dunlieth for the report of a motor vehicle crash. Officials said when the officers arrived, they noted that a maroon SUV had crashed into the residence pinning a 61-year-old male underneath the vehicle and injuring another 64-year-old male.

The 67-year-old male driver remained at the scene and all three were later transported to a local area hospital with minor non-life-threatening injuries.

This investigation is still ongoing, however, at this time it is not believed that alcohol or drugs are a factor, police said.

Breaking Report

Wilmington – At 3:00 Friday afternoon rescue crews from across New Castle County responded to a home 100 block of Bunche Blvd for reports of a vehicle into a home.

Crews en route were told that there was a lot of yelling and screaming going on at the home and that police were en route to the scene.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that at least one person was trapped under the vehicle inside the home.  The confirmed trapped patient was a man sitting in his living room when the vehicle landed on his lap, according to reports from the scene.

Just after 3:20 pm crews reported that the patient had been freed from underneath the vehicle. Trooper 4, arriving on the scene, was alerted by Command that they would be utilized.

Shortly after the patient was removed from the home he was transported to a nearby landing zone where Trooper 4 was waiting.

At 3:45 pm Trooper 4 touched down at the trauma center with the patent.
