Troopers Identify Seaford Homicide Victim

Seaford- On January 23, 2021, at approximately 6:40 a.m., troopers were dispatched to Park Circle in the Mobile Gardens Community for a reported shooting. The investigation determined 28-year-old Kwantae Hovington of Seaford had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This case remains an active investigation. Delaware State Police have confirmed that they are investigating a fatal shooting that only First State Update told you about yesterday.

Officials said late Saturday that a homicide investigation into the early Saturday morning shooting was underway.

On January 23, 2021, at approximately 6:40 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Park Circle in the Mobile Gardens Community for a reported shooting. The investigation determined a 28-year-old male had been shot during the incident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identification of the victim is pending notification to the next of kin.

Breaking Report

Delaware State Police are currently conducting a criminal investigation in the Mobile Gardens Community in Seaford, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Heather Pepper.

Just after 9:00, Saturday morning, Pepper said there was an increased police presence in the area. This investigation is in the early stages and is active and ongoing.

Officials have not released details surrounding the investigation, however, First State Update has learned that the rescue crews responded to the area just after 6:30 this morning for reports of a shooting.

Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2 was dispatched to the area but it is believed they did not transport a patient.
