Police: Man Arrested On A Felony Rape Charge, May Be Other Victims

New Castle County Police have arrested a man on a felony rape charge, officials said Thursday.

Authorities said on Sunday, March 14th, officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the community of Rolling Hills, for a report of a sexual assault. Upon arrival, the officers were able to determine that the victim was sexually assaulted during a gathering earlier in the night.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit were able to develop 18-year-old Miguel Sanchez-Perez as a suspect for this investigation, police said. Miguel was apprehended on Monday, March 15th without incident.

He was charged with one felony count of Rape in the second degree. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently being held at Howard R. Young Correctional institution in lieu of $60,000 secured bail.

Officials said based on this investigation, detectives are concerned that there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
