Man Trapped Under Vehicle At Middletown Waffle House Thursday

At approximately 8:48 pm, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, and Odessa Fire Company were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Main St. for a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle reported rolled over, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO Oliver Kocher.

Kocher said responding units arrived and confirmed reports, advising of a single-vehicle collision with one patient pinned under a vehicle.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found one patient, a 22-year-old male pinned under a sedan that had rolled over. Responders from Volunteer Hose Company extricated the patient from under the vehicle after being trapped for approximately 15 minutes. The patient had minor injuries to his torso, upper extremities, and head. He was treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital via Odessa Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.

The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Middletown Police is investigating the crash.
