Police Make Arrest In August Stabbing, Victim’s Condition Unknown

Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident, according to police.

Officials said on August 31 at approximately 6:22 p.m. police responded to the 1000 block of West 8th Street for a stabbing that had just occurred. A description of the suspect was given and through investigative measures, police were able to quickly identify 26-year-old Keenan Geter-Boatswain as the suspect, officials said Wednesday. Geter-Boatswain was taken into custody a short time later in the 100 block of West 13th Street without incident.

Geter-Boatswain was charged with the following offenses:
Assault (1st Degree)
Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
Aggravated Menacing
Terroristic Threatening

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $62,500 cash-only bail.

Police did not release details regarding the victim’s injuries, age, gender, or condition.
