Police: Man Charged With Slamming Woman’s Face Into Table Multiple Times

Delaware State Police arrested a man on felony assault and related charges following an incident early Saturday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said on December 11, 2021, at approximately 12:30 a.m., troopers responded to Bogan Drive in Lincoln, for a report of an assault. The investigation determined Abel Ramirez-Lopez, 36, of Lincoln, had an argument with a 25-year-old female acquaintance, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, Abel struck the victim in the face multiple times and slammed her head against a table. The woman was treated at an area hospital for a laceration and injuries to her head. Abel was taken into custody at the scene by responding troopers. There were four children present in the residence, none of whom were injured said Hatchell.

Abel was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2 and charged with the following crimes:

Assault 2nd Degree (Felony)
Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 4 counts
Abel was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #3, and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $14,000 cash bond.
