Shortly after 6:00 a.m., a trooper conducting proactive crime prevention patrol at businesses in the North Wilmington area observed a suspicious red Dodge Caliber parked on Larkal Drive, in the area of Shell gas station located at 1800 Foulk Road in Wilmington. As the trooper began investigating, a black male wearing all gray was observed running towards the vehicle. The trooper contacted the male and discovered he was in possession of a loaded M&P .380 Bodyguard handgun and a black bag containing cash, according to Hatchell.

As the male, identified as Naceir Marsh, 21, of Claymont, was taken into custody, an employee at the Shell gas station, called 9-1-1 and reported the business was just robbed by a black male wearing a gray sweatsuit and possessing a black handgun. The suspect was last seen fleeing the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
