Capital School District

Dear Senator Nation,

Due to anticipated weather, we will convene a snow day on Monday, January 3rd.  In light of the challenges of this school year we will have a “true snow day” with no in-person, virtual at-home learning, or remote instruction for students or 10-month employees. All 12-month employees will receive additional information on reporting times tomorrow morning once the weather situation can be reassessed to ensure everyone’s safety.

We will continue to monitor the COVID and staffing situation, but at this time, we intend to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 4th. Your patience and understanding are most important as we evaluate our capacity to safely provide in-person learning.

As we embark on 2022, we will continue to advance our five priorities of care, communication, community, continuous improvement and capacity building.  I encourage everyone to remain healthy.

Regards,
Dr. Vilicia Cade

Christina School District

Due to snow and icy conditions that are predicted tomorrow, as well as potential operational concerns, all Christina schools, offices and programs will be CLOSED on Monday, January 3rd. This includes students enrolled in our Virtual Academy, Preschool, and Special Programs. After-school activities will also be canceled tomorrow.

12-month employees will work remotely and Custodial and Maintenance staff should check for start times from their supervisors. Please contact your supervisor with questions.

Test-to-Stay is scheduled to reopen tomorrow for those who have previously registered. If weather permits, those sites will open tomorrow evening.

We encourage you to check our website for frequently updated information. Please remember that any decision made with regard to bad weather and emergencies affects the current school day only; a new announcement will be made if the condition continues.
