Battle To Determine Best DSU Dorm Room Chef Set For Today

Delaware State University Student Partnering with SodexoMagic To Host First Annual Cooking Competition with Celebrity Chef, Gerry Garvin.

Zion Weeks, an undergraduate student at Delaware State University, has partnered with SodexoMagic to establish the first Mystery Magic Cook-Off in its Conrad Café dining
facility.

The event will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6 and will include four Delaware State students battling it out to see who is the best dorm room chef on campus. Hosting the
competition will be celebrity chef, Gerry Garvin. Garvin is best known for his television series on the Food Network including The Trap, Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin, and Roadtrip with
G. Garvin. No stranger to competition, Garvin has also participated in shows such as Guy’s Grocery Games and Iron Chef America.

The Mystery Magic Cook-Off began as Week’s independent study project, where his ultimate goal was to help bring events back to campus after a majority of them had been stopped due to
COVID-19. He also hopes that in starting this event, he will leave a lasting effect on campus that will continue long after he graduates in 2024.
