Reports: West Virginia Fugitives Captured In Dover Will Be Extradited Monday

A mother and her daughter wanted by West Virginia authorities for the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old girl are expected to be returned to Mountain State on Monday.

Detectives working the case told West Virginia reporters that the pair waived their extradition hearings in Delaware and that they would go get them on Monday.

Nichole Brooks, 43, and Isis Wallace, 22, are expected to appear before a West Virginia judge on Tuesday.

Original Story

Two Bluefield, West Virginia women, wanted in connection to the shooting death of a 13-year-old girl have been located in Dover, officials said Thursday.

The U.S. Marshals Service, assisting the Bluefield Police Department, said that Nichole Brooks, 43, and Isis Wallace, 22, are alleged to have fired multiple rounds into a vehicle occupied by three people, while they were sitting at a red light on March 23 near the intersection of U.S. Route 460 and Cumberland Road in Bluefield, Virginia. The victim was discovered in the back seat with a gunshot wound to her head. She was transported to CAMC General in Charleston and later died from her injuries.

Warrants for first-degree murder were issued March 24 for Wallace and Brooks along with a $10,000 reward for the pair’s capture.

“The Marshals Service is committed to making communities safer,” said U.S. Marshal Michael Baylous on Wednesday. “That is why we have elevated this investigation to major case status and are offering a $5,000 reward each for the capture of Nichole Brooks and Isis Wallace. We believe these two women present a significant threat to public safety. The sooner we have them in custody, the better.”

Officials said officers received information that the pair was staying at the Mainstay Suites located at 201 Stover Boulevard off of South Bay Road in Dover. Officers from the Dover Police Department and US Marshal Service conducted surveillance at the hotel before executing a search warrant and taking both suspects into custody shortly at approximately 9:00 p.m. Both suspects surrendered without incident. Brooks and Wallace will be held at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution pending their extradition to West Virginia.
