On Saturday, May 14, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m. patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of East 38th Street in the community of Penrose, for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.
When the officers arrived, they located a 19-year-old male victim in front of a residence on East 38th Street. The victim was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper torso. Good Samaritans were found administering First Aid and the victim was transported by EMS to a local area hospital where he remains listed in Critical Condition.
