Sources: No One Found Inside Jefferson Street Row Home, Shooting Victim In Stable Condition

Wilmington Police are reportedly breaking down the barricaded suspect scene after no suspect was found inside a Jefferson Street row home sources tell FSU.

Just after 10:00 Saturday morning Wilmington Police and rescue crews responded to a shooting near the intersection of 5th Street and Jefferson Street.

Responding crews found a 63-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Sources tell FSU that police surrounded the row home in the 400 block of N. Jefferson Street over six hours ago, shortly after the shooting incident.  Police believed the suspect in the shooting was held up inside the home.

Arriving officers surrounded the home and the SWAT Team was called in.  Throughout the day the SWAT Team could be heard loud hailing the home over a BearCat PA System, telling the person inside the home to come out.

When officers made entry into the home they did not find anyone inside according to sources.

A second ambulance responded to the 500 block of 4th street for a second person that was injured in relation to this incident.
