Just after 12:50, Friday afternoon rescue crews from Hollaway Terrace and surrounding companies along with New Castle County Paramedics, Delaware State Police, and DRBA Police respond to I-295 SB just prior to Route 13 for a crash with multiple people reported injured.
Upon arrival, crews reported that they had multiple people trapped.
DRBA Spokesman James Salmon said that the accident involved four vehicles and five people involved. One person was killed and four others were transported to Christiana Hospital according to Salmon. Major traffic issues southbound due to only one lane currently open.
Radio traffic indicated that there was a total of seven patients. We are working to confirm the total number of patients.
