The First State Update Effect In Action, Check Out This Random Story

On Thursday we posted photos of a vehicle that was pulled from the woods at the end of Rue Madora Court in Bear. The photos were submitted by a reader who told us that residents were being told that it was a stolen car.

Later that night another local resident looked at his phone and became worried.  The Good Samaritan was worried because he may have purchased gas for the driver of the car the night before.

After doing some grocery shopping on Wednesday night the man (the Good Samaritan) was on his way home just after 10:20.  The man says a similar-looking vehicle flew by him on the wrong side of the road on Old Baltimore Pike in the area of Salem Church Road. The car darted in front of him and came to a stop. The man thought the driver was trying to break check him so he pulled up next to her. She told him that she had run out of gas, “This lady was driving like a maniac”, the man explained.

After the woman ran out of gas the man helped her push the car to the side of the road.  He then gave her a ride to the gas station, where she informed him that she had left her money in the car. When he brought the woman back to the car with the gas he noticed a hole in the front bumper a blue sticker on the bumper.  As the man was pouring the gas into the car the woman took off out of nowhere.

The man said before going to bed on Thursday night he opened his phone and saw see the post regarding the stolen car. “I was like WTF! that’s the car from the night before!” The man said he was sure it was the same car based on the photos in the First State Update post.

Worried that police would come knocking on his door after finding his prints all over the car, he called county police last night to explain what happened.  County police told the they would forward the info to DSP.  The events on Wednesday night were all captured on dash cam video. FSU has reviewed the videos and can confirm that this crazy turn of events is accurate.

So it looks like one member of Update Nation may have saved another member a lot of trouble when they sent us the original photos.

Keep it up Update Nation!
