Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Being Struck On Capitol Trail

At approximately 10:53 p.m. the New Castle County Paramedics were requested to respond to the area of Capitol Trail and the Astro Shopping Center in Newark for the report of a pedestrian struck by an automobile according to S/Sergeant Abigail Haas.

Haas said upon the arrival of the New Castle County Paramedics, a 53-year-old male was found lying in the roadway after being struck by a small SUV. The man was treated by the Paramedics for head, extremity, and possible internal injuries. He was transported to the Christiana Hospital, in Stanton, in critical condition.

The Delaware State Police Department is investigating the incident.
