Gunman Opens Fire On Car Near Dover, One Struck

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting following a road rage incident that occurred in Dover earlier today according to police.

Officials on November 8, 2022, at approximately 11:48 a.m., troopers began investigating a shooting that occurred on Seven Hickories Road in the area of Brenford Road. Investigators learned that the 34-year-old male victim had been struck by gunfire while he was seated in his vehicle after an alleged road rage incident. The victim was transported by an acquaintance to an area hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his wounds. No other subjects were injured.

Sources tell FSU that a vehicle pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and a gunman opened fire. The sources also tell FSU that five rounds were fired before both vehicle fled the scene.

There is currently no suspect information available. The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this case. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed this incident to please contact Detective J. Sydnor by calling 302-698-8540.
