Dirt Bike Rider In Critical Condition After Collision With Vehicle

At approximately 9:15 pm, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Christiana Fire Company,
and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 were dispatched to the area of Old Baltimore Pike at Salem
Church Road in Bear for a motor vehicle collision involving a dirt bike.

NCCEMS Assistant PIO Oliver Kocher said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found an approximately 18-year-old male patient in the care of Christiana Fire Company EMTs. The patient was the operator of a dirt bike that was struck by a vehicle and suffered injuries to his extremities, with possible internal injuries.

The patient was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported to Christiana Hospital via Christiana Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in critical condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the incident.
