Police: Claymont Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint Monday

The Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Claymont area gas station that occurred last night.

Officials said the incident occurred at approximately 9:41 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2022, at the BP gas station, located at 3421 Philadelphia Pike in Claymont.

Two male suspects entered the business and confronted an employee at the sales counter. One suspect produced a handgun and demanded money, while the second suspect went behind the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.  The suspects then fled the scene and were last observed running on foot toward the Waterfall Banquet Hall. The employee was not injured during the incident.

The first suspect was described as a black male, in his early 20’s approximately 6’ tall, wearing all dark clothing, a mask, and in possession of a handgun.

The second suspect was described as a black male, in his early 20’s approximately 6’ 2” tall, wearing all dark clothing, and a mask.
