Police: Victim Confronted In His Bedroom By Burglar In Newark

On December 18, 2022, at about 1:48 in the morning, Newark Police responded to a residence in the unit block of East Cleveland Avenue for a report of a burglary that just occurred. 

Arriving officers determined that the victim was in his bedroom when he was confronted by a male suspect, who was unknown to the victim.  After the verbal confrontation, the suspect fled the residence to a vehicle.  The suspect was found to have fled the residence with property belonging to the victim officials said.

The suspect was described as a black male, thin build, 5’10”, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a red stripe.

No weapons were displayed and the victim was not injured during this incident.
