Local Author Book Signing Event Set For End Of April

Local Milton author Karl Wegener is making a stop at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach to sign copies of his new novel, “Grown Men Cry Out at Night,” on April 30.

Wegener brings a unique perspective to the Cold-War-era espionage thriller, as the story’s setting — Bremen, Germany in 1946 — is based on true events. Drawing from his experiences as a Russian linguist in the U.S. Army Security Agency, Wegener tells the tale of ex-soldier turned counterintelligence agent who discovers that his own family was involved in war crimes of their own.

An unsettling truth has come to light as a U.S. Army counterintelligence agent pursues the people responsible for the deaths of thousands of enslaved workers at a covert submarine construction site known as the Valentin Bunker
