Just after 12:00 Monday afternoon at a motorcycle accident occurred on Route 1 in the area of Black Diamond Road in Townsend. New Castle County Paramedics, Townsend Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation responded to the scene for reports a rider down.
Paramedics found the 65-year-old woman in the care of Townsend Fire Company EMTs on arrival. Officials said the patient suffered severe injuries to her torso and extremities, as well as internal injuries. The patient was treated on scene before being rushed to Christiana Hospital, via Delaware State Police helicopter Trooper 4 accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The woman was in critical condition at the time of transport.
The Delaware State Police are investigating the accident. No further details have been released.
