Three Shot, 5 Injured In Mall Shooting Saturday

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting at the Christiana Mall that occurred Saturday evening.

Police said at approximately 6:43 p.m., the Delaware State Police were dispatched to the Christiana Mall for a reported shooting that occurred at the entrance to the food court. Officers responded and located three victims with gunshot wounds in the vicinity of the food court. The victims were transported to area hospitals for their injuries. All three of the victims have been listed in stable condition. Five other individuals sustained various injuries not related to gunfire during the incident. These subjects were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.

Officials said that it has not been confirmed how many suspects were involved at this time. Investigators are actively working to identify the suspects. The incident is determined to be a result of an altercation between several suspects and at least one of the victims police said. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.

FSU has been told that two of the victims were found near Urban Outfitters and the third was found near the Chick Fil A in the food court.

Police with body armor and long guns drawn went door to door rescuing hundreds of workers and customers that were hiding in stores and restaurants.
