Police: Elkton Man Charged With Killing Housemate

On May 21, 2023 at approximately 12:30 PM, Cecil County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the unit block of Farah Drive Elkton in reference to a shooting incident.  Upon arrival, deputies observed an unresponsive male in the front yard of the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  The male was pronounced deceased at the scene police said Monday.  Sheriff’s Office investigators and crime scene technicians responded to the scene to continue the investigation.         

Investigators learned that a resident of the address, identified as James Michael Zack (white male, 57 year of age) had called 911 and advised that he had shot someone inside the residence after an argument according to police.  Investigators identified the deceased as Michael Richard Bramowski (white male, 41 years of age, address – Elkton, Maryland).  The investigation revealed that both subjects resided at the residence and were involved in an argument before the shooting occurred police said.  A handgun and shell casings were located inside the residence.

James Michael Zack was charged with the following offenses:

  • Murder 2nd degree
  • Assault 1st degree
  • Assault 2nd degree
  • Reckless endangerment
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony

Mr. Zack was committed to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office with no bond.
