One Trapped When Dump Truck Rolls Onto Vehicle Monday

Sussex County officials are currently on the scene of a serious accident that occurred at the intersection of Concord Road and Baker Mill Road just before 11:30.

The incident involves a collision between a dump truck and a vehicle, resulting in significant damage and left at least one patient trapped. Initial reports from the scene indicate that a dump truck full of gravel rolled onto the vehicle. Multiple emergency teams responded to the scene.

As crews were responding to the scene Delaware State Police asked for medical crews to step up their response due to the severity of the accident.

Upon arrival, the first responders confirmed heavy entrapment of one patient involved in the accident. Crews worked with specialized equipment to extricate the trapped victim safely. A request for a heavy wrecker rotator was made to assist in the rescue efforts.

One patient was transported to a nearby medical facility, receiving immediate medical attention. The extrication efforts, aimed at freeing those trapped in the wreckage, were still in progress at 11:45 AM.

Just before 12:00, the extrication efforts ended with one patient freed. All patients have been transported by ground. Aviation has been recalled.

Command has placed the incident under control and is asking for a DelDOT loader to help with the cleanup.
