Troopers Investigating Thursday Bank Robbery

The Delaware State Police are actively investigating a bank robbery that took place Thursday morning at the F&N Shopping Village in Wilmington. The incident occurred at the Citizens Bank branch located inside the Acme grocery store on Naamans Road.

Troopers responded to a report of the robbery at approximately 11:39 a.m., where they learned that a white male suspect approached a bank teller and demanded money. The teller, a 29-year-old individual, complied with the suspect’s demands, and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The teller did not sustain any injuries during the robbery. The suspect, described as a white male, was reportedly wearing a dark-colored shirt, jeans, and white sneakers at the time of the incident.

In response to this crime, the Delaware State Police’s Troop 2 Robbery Unit has taken charge of the investigation. Leading the efforts is Detective J. Dempsey, who is urging anyone with pertinent information regarding the case to come forward. Detective Dempsey can be reached at 302-365-8472.
