New Castle Man Facing Burglary, Stalking Charges

Patrol Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 37-year-old Brian Clendening on multiple felony charges.

Officials said on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 8:59 p.m., Officers along with K9 Nova and her partner, Ofc. Hartlove responded to Pine Valley Apartments in New Castle in reference to an unknown complaint where it was reported that a woman was screaming.

Officers arrived at the location and located the apartment where the incident was occurring. Officers confronted a male suspect who was later identified as Clendening of New Castle.

Clendening had multiple active arrest warrants in Delaware for various charges police said. Officers along with K9 Nova and her partner then took Clendening into custody without further incident. The investigation on scene revealed that Clendening unlawfully entered the victim’s apartment while violating two active no-contact orders.

Brian Clendening was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters. He was charged with one felony count of burglary in the first degree, one felony count of stalking, and two misdemeanor counts of breach of release. He was also arraigned on four additional arrest warrants related to stalking and numerous felony charges. Clendening was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $148,000.00 secured bail.
