Troopers Arrest Three After Finding Stolen Car

On Thursday, the Delaware State Police arrested three subjects after a search in the area along Concord Pike in Wilmington.

The three individuals, all of Wilmington, are identified as 18-year-old Baron Wilmer, 18-year-old Quadre Wright, and a 17-year-old male, were all arrested for possessing stolen property police said Friday.

The event unfolded when the State Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle near Concord Pike and Silverside Road in Wilmington at approximately 10:23 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, troopers found a silver Kia Sorrento left deserted on the road. The caller stated that they had seen a group of young black males in the vicinity of the vehicle.

Upon checking the vehicle’s registration, the troopers discovered that it had been reported stolen earlier that morning within the jurisdiction of the Wilmington Police Department. Armed with this information, the troopers initiated a search for the suspects in the area. As the troopers approached the three individuals they attempted to evade capture by hiding. However, the law enforcement officers apprehended all three suspects without further incident.

The three suspects were later taken to Troop 1 for processing and to face the charges filed against them. Baron Wilmer, aged 18, faced charges of receiving stolen property (Felony), conspiracy second-degree (Felony), and resisting arrest. Following his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2, Baron Wilmer was remanded to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post the required $6,500 secured bond.

Similarly, Quadre Wright, also 18 years old, faced charges of receiving stolen property (Felony), conspiracy second-degree (Felony), and resisting arrest. After his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2, Quadre Wright was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. His secured bond was set at $3,500.

Due to being a minor, the identity of the 17-year-old male was not publicly disclosed. However, he faced charges of receiving stolen property (Felony), conspiracy second-degree (Felony), and resisting arrest. After his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, he was remanded to the New Castle County Detention Center with a significant $14,000 cash bond.

At around the time of the arrest, several readers messaged FSU, telling us that police had three subjects at gunpoint near the Concord Mall. The readers said that Delaware State Police Aviation was overhead searching. It’s not clear if these are the same incident.
