Troopers Investigating Swim Club Burglaries

Delaware State Police are investigating two burglaries that occurred at a Wilmington swim club earlier this month.

On July 18, 2023, at approximately 9:16 a.m., Troopers responded to the Oakwood Valley Swim Club, situated at 4909 Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington.

Investigating the scene, troopers found evidence that an unidentified individual had unlawfully entered the property while it was closed, damaging a lock box and stealing money.

Just two days later, on July 20, 2023, at approximately 9:03 a.m., the swim club fell victim to another burglary. The suspect once again trespassed onto the property while it was closed and this time caused damage to a door. The thief made off with several valuable items.

The Delaware State Police, specifically the Troop 2 Burglary Unit, are leading the investigation into these incidents.

Detectives are appealing to the public for any information that might help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for these burglaries. If you have any relevant details you are asked to contact Detective M. Young at 302-834-2620.
