Two Shootings Send Two Young Men To Trauma Center

Police officials are investigating two separate shooting incidents that took place over the weekend in the communities of Wilmington and Newark.

Detectives from the Wilmington Police Department and the New Castle County Division of Police are conducting separate investigations into these disturbing incidents.

The first incident occurred on Sunday night at approximately 10:57 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 28th Street in Wilmington. Responding to the distress call, law enforcement arrived at the scene to discover a 20-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is presently reported to be in stable condition. As authorities continue their active investigation, they are asking anyone with information pertaining to the incident to come forward.

Less than an hour later, at approximately 11:29 p.m., County Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Bellwether Court in response to another shooting incident. On arrival, officers found a 15-year-old male victim lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. The officers provided crucial first aid and utilized a tourniquet to stabilize the wounded young victim.

He was transported to a local hospital for further medical attention. Subsequently, detectives were called to the scene to take charge of the investigation, and they are urging the public to come forward with any information or surveillance footage that may assist in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this incident.
