Police: Dispute Over Internet Access Turns Violent

On July 31, 2023, the Delaware State Police arrested Justin Watson, a 36-year-old resident of Camden Wyoming for felony assault following a violent altercation at his residence police said Wednesday.

According to reports, troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Allabands Mill Road in Camden Wyoming, at approximately 5:25 Thursday night after receiving a report of a physical altercation. Upon arrival, they discovered a 19-year-old man near the residence with injuries sustained during the altercation. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was found to be Watson’s roommate police said.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the altercation occurred over a dispute concerning internet access. The disagreement escalated, resulting in Watson attacking the victim with a box cutter, inflicting serious injuries according to police. The injured individual was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and was later released.

Following the incident, law enforcement officers located Watson at his residence and took him into custody.

The Delaware State Police charged Watson with Assault Second Degree, a felony offense, as well as Possession of a Deadly Weapon, also classified as a felony. He was subsequently brought before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 for arraignment.

During the court proceedings, Watson’s bail was set at $14,000 secured. As a result, he was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution to await further legal proceedings.
