In a span of just minutes, Wilmington, Delaware, witnessed two shooting incidents that prompted a response from emergency services.

At 10:56 AM, emergency responders were called to Vandever Avenue, where reports indicated that two individuals had been shot. Police say the shooting incident occurred a block away in the 1700 block of North Locust Street.

Responders included New Castle County Emergency Medical Services (NCCEMS) along with crews from Saint Francis, the Wilmington Fire Department, and Wilmington Police officers.

Upon arrival at Vandever Avenue, crews discovered two male victims, 23 and 24, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds according to initial reports from the scene. Both patients were transported to the trauma center and are listed in stable condition.

However, the situation in Wilmington was far from over. Just minutes later, at the 600 block of W 5th Street, emergency responders faced another report of a shooting.

Arriving crews at W 5th Street encountered a large crowd and found a 22-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
