Members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force make an arrest while conducting routine patrols according to State Police.
On Monday night, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the officers were patrolling at the Brightway Commons Apartment Community in Milford. Officials said this area had been a focal point of concern for the local community, with reports of frequent drug use, violent crimes, and various quality-of-life issues. It was during the patrol that the officers said they encountered Raheem Fullman, a probationer with a prior felony conviction according to police.
Fullman’s presence drew the attention of the officers. Brightway Commons had a strict curfew in place, and it appeared that Fullman was loitering outside an apartment building beyond the curfew hours officials said Tuesday. I
A probation officer assigned to the Governor’s Task Force approached Fullman and initiated a conversation. Police said Fullman’s response was less than cooperative, leading to his subsequent detainment.
During the process of taking Fullman into custody officers said they noticed a handgun concealed in Fullman’s waistband. Upon closer inspection, it became evident that the firearm was loaded and had an obliterated serial number police said.
Fullman is facing a series of serious charges including possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, a felony offense, possession of a weapon with an obliterated serial number, another felony, carrying a concealed firearm, also a felony, possession of a weapon in a safe recreation zone, and loitering,
Following his arrest, Fullman was taken to Troop 3 for processing. Subsequently, he was presented before Justice of the Peace Court 7 for arraignment. He was remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution with a cash bond set at $25,001.
