Just after 6:30 Monday morning a motor vehicle collision involving a trash truck and a tractor-trailer has led to road closures John J Williams Highway in Millsboro, Sussex County.
The Millsboro Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 2, and the Sussex County Technical Rescue Team were among the units dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival in the area of 30058 John J Williams Highway, the first responders ordered the closed.
The collision occurred in the vicinity of Jersey Road and Route 24, the old Uncle Willies. Initial reports indicate that the trash truck t-boned and a tractor-trailer collided and trapped the drive of the trash truck.
Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 2, which was originally dispatched to the crash, was later recalled.
The driver of the trash truck has been transported to Beebe Healthcare for medical attention. According to initial reports the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
