Laurel School District Announces Closure Following Sunday Shooting

Dr. Shawn Larrimore, Superintendent of the Laurel School District, announced that all schools within the district will be closed on Monday, October 30. The decision was made in response to a shooting incident that took place on Sunday, leading to an ongoing police investigation with suspects still at large.

The Delaware State Police confirmed that one of the three teenage victims has succumbed to their injuries. The incident led to the closure of W 7th Street between West Street and Center Street for investigation purposes after three teenagers were shot there. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities reported late on Sunday that the suspects involved in the shooting were still at large.
