Man Airlifted After Suffering Traumatic Injuries In Rehoboth Beach

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2 were dispatched to the 100 block of Rehoboth Avenue Thursday morning.

Just after 12:30 a.m., rescue crews found a male patient who had sustained a serious head wound, raising suspicions that he had been struck by a vehicle, however, that was not confirmed at the scene.

Crews provided medical treatment at the scene, working to stabilize the patient’s condition before transporting him to a landing zone at Rehoboth Elementary School. At the school, the patient was transferred to Trooper 2, a specialized medical transport helicopter operated by Delaware State Police.

Trooper 2 then transported the patient to the trauma center located in New Castle County in serious condition.
