Woman Pinned Under Car Airlifted Friday Morning

Authorities are investigating a crash that left at least one person injured Friday morning

Just after 11:15 rescue crews responded to the Southern Exposure store located at 1003 Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island in Sussex County, for reports of a vehicle into a building with a person trapped.

For reasons that are yet to be determined, a vehicle crashed into the building, causing damage to the building and trapped at least one person.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that a woman was trapped between a wall and the vehicle inside the store. The woman was trapped for about 20 minutes before she was treated at the scene. She was then transported to the trauma center in New Castle County via Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper.

This is a developing story.
