On Friday, Elsmere Police and the New Castle County Police SWAT team executed a search warrant in the 700 block of 8th Avenue, located in Murray Manor Trailer Park.
The search warrant was part of an investigation into the homicide of Jose Gonzalez, who was murdered on September 16, 2023, in the 900 block of S. Grant Avenue, Elsmere, according to police.
This operation culminated in the arrest of Jeremy Herrera, 19, of Wilmington. Herrera was indicted by a New Castle County Grand Jury on September 6, 2023, in connection with Gonzalez’s murder.
Herrera is facing Murder 1st Degree, Conspiracy 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited.
Following his arrest, Herrera was set a cash bail exceeding two million dollars and has been committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
