Officials Update Crash That Sent Two Children To Hospital In Critical Condition

On Friday morning, at 8:12 AM, a serious motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Ogletown Stanton Road and Old Churchmans Road

Emergency crews from the New Castle County Paramedics and several fire companies responded to assist at the crash. The incident involved a single-vehicle rollover with significant damage, resulting in the ejection of a child.

Upon arrival, first responders found the severely damaged vehicle and immediately began rescue and medical operations. Two young patients, a 4-year-old male and a 3-year-old male, were involved in the accident. The 4-year-old, suffering from a suspected head injury, received immediate treatment on board an ambulance from the Good Will Fire Company and was rushed to nearby Christian Hospital. The 3-year-old, exhibiting signs of possible internal injuries, was attended to by medical personnel from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder Company.

Both children were transported in critical condition to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. Initial reports indicated that the driver was also transported, however, officials did not provide those details in the update.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the collision.

The responding agencies, including New Castle County EMS (Paramedics), Christiana Fire Company, Good Will Fire Company, Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company, and the Delaware State Police, coordinated their efforts in addressing this emergency.
