Police Identify Woman Killed In Frankford Crash

Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in Frankford on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident involved a 2018 Chevrolet Trax. The vehicle, for reasons still being determined, veered off the east edge of Dupont Boulevard as it approached Frankford Avenue and collided with the side of a residence.

Irene Owen, a 75-year-old woman from Frankford, Delaware, was identified as the driver of the Chevrolet. She was transported to a local hospital following the accident.

Owen later succumbed to her injuries that evening. Reports indicate that there were no injuries among the occupants of the house impacted by the crash.

Traffic flow on the roadway was maintained throughout the investigation of the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash, and further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
