Water Rescue Sunday Sends One To Hospital

Milton – A water rescue operation was undertaken on the Broadkill River east of Milton following the capsizing of a watercraft Sunday.

Initial reports from the scene suggests that the vessel, a canoe or kayak type vessel, overturned in the water at around 2:00.

A second boater at the scene reportedly sustained the individual in the water until rescue teams arrived. Upon the arrival of the emergency services, the crews found a male victim, who was subsequently transported via ambulance to Beebe Medical Center. The injuries sustained by the individual are believed to be non-life-threatening.
