Woman Dragged Across Delaware Memorial Bridge By Semi-Truck Monday Morning

An incident occurred on the Delaware Memorial Bridge this morning, involving a semi-truck and a white Toyota Camry. The event took place at approximately 7:25 am as vehicles were crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge on the southbound span.

The driver of the Camry, a Mount Laurel, New Jersey woman, said that a semi-truck with a blue cab and white boxed trailer changed lanes, coming into contact with her vehicle in the right lane and smashing her against the side of the bridge. The impact led to the Camry being dragged for a brief distance before it was released.

The woman said following the collision, the semi-truck momentarily decelerated, giving the appearance of coming to a stop. However, the driver then continued driving, leaving the scene of the accident.

Authorities are currently seeking any witnesses who might have seen the incident or have additional information. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact Delaware River and Bay Authority’s Corporal Hiller at 302-571-6300
